Fears Watches
The Fears Watch Company Limited is one of Britain’s oldest family-run watch companies.
We first came across Nicholas via Instagram. Trevor invited him into store, and became taken with Nicholas history and fascinating story behind the brand.
Fears history begins in 1846, during Queen Victoria’s first decade on the throne, when a young watchmaker named Edwin Fear opened a watchmaking workshop and showroom on Redcliff Street, Bristol.
The business ran until the 1960, and after 50 years (and two generations) laying dormant it was re-established by Edwin Fear’s great-great-great-grandson – Nicholas in 2016.
After hearing his incredible story Trevor of course wanted to see how we could help this historic but newly launched British brand.
Therefore we gave Fears the run of our shop for an evening. The event was a huge success with Fears customers, press and bloggers all turning out in force to support Nicholas. Nicholas created a Fears museum showcasing the history of his family’s company focusing on the 4 directors. He served organic English bubbles to top off the British themed evening.
